I am most interested in high-growth-potential companies based on disruptive technologies backed by defensible intellectual property, in the areas of telecommunications/networking, virtualization/cloud computing, SaaS and PaaS, IT security, and data storage and retrieval.
In other words, I prefer to invest in companies which hope to succeed through a combination of unique (and defensible) technology, effective business model, and outstanding execution. I am much less interested in pure execution plays, although a sufficiently unique (and hard to replicate) business model may catch my attention.
My interest is not exclusively confined to the market sectors listed above, but I do have a very strong preference for enterprise (vs. consumer) oriented businesses.
I do also take on a limited number of Board and advisory board roles, generally within the same parameters.
